As you may have seen over at the Portland Incubator Experiment (PIE) or Portland Business Journal blogs, We were selected as one of six companies to participate in the 2014 PIE class.
One thing we know already, is that there are some awesome other people and businesses here that we now get to call classmates. You should check them out.
But what does this mean for us? Well… it means we’re coming out of the basement. Both figuratively and literally.
On the figurative side…
By making it into PIE we changed from being one in the vast sea of startups into a hopeful that is worthy the support of an accelerator. This is big. And scary. Monday morning our personal support framework grew. It’s like the big bang of the Support Universe. Bottomless knowledge and endless potential relationships. There will be so much to tap into that we will have to balance between what we can learn for the long run and our need to ship and grow in the short term. Naturally, we still want to soak up as much as we can and build long-lasting relationships.
On the literal side…
It means we leave the comfy confines of our home offices and that our commute to work is no longer just a flight of stairs. How will we get there? Do we go by bike? By rail? By drone? But what a set of facilities it is here in the Wieden+Kennedy building! We’re in the heart of the Pearl district now, with a rooftop lounge. Admiring the view from up there, we’re finding it really hard to complain. It almost makes us want to work for W+K. Well, until we saw this.
Week 1 is now in the books and it has already given us a lot to think about…
Enjoy! It’s a great opportunity. I never did quite figure out how to navigate the building, but I got close enough!

Congrats! I’m so jealous that you are working in the W+K facilities. They are incredible.
